Plush Toys Produced to a Brand Standard
Brand toys are a different job from general custom plush. When a toy carries someone's brand on it, the tolerance for drift disappears. Colour has to hit the reference, the logo has to sit where the brand book says it sits, the label has to carry the right legal text, and unit 5,000 has to look identical to the approved sample.
We produce branded plush for corporate mascot programmes, promotional campaigns, retail merchandising ranges and licensed merchandise. Everything runs through our own factory in China, so the person matching your Pantone reference is in the same building as the sewing line that has to reproduce it.
What separates this from a standard custom order is documentation. Brand work arrives with a brand book, a colour specification, artwork files, packaging requirements and often a retailer compliance sheet. We work to those documents rather than around them.
Brand book compliance
We work from your guidelines rather than interpreting them. Logo placement, proportion rules and approved colourways are followed as written, and anything unclear gets queried before sampling, not after.
Colour matched to reference
Pantone references are matched in fabric, confirmed physically at sample stage, then held across the run. Dye lots are tracked so a reorder can be matched against the original.
Retail ready on arrival
Woven labels, care labels, hangtags, header cards, barcodes and safety warnings applied to your specification, so goods can move straight from carton to shelf.

Types of Brand Toy Programmes We Run
Branded plush arrives from five directions, and each one changes how the order is built, packed and scheduled.
Corporate Mascot Toys
Your company mascot turned into plush for events, client gifts and staff programmes. Uniforms, badges and accessories are tailored separately and fitted rather than printed on, so the detail survives handling.
Promotional Campaign Toys
Plush built around a launch date rather than a specification. Volumes are usually large, tolerances are tight, and the entire schedule works backwards from the campaign day.
Retail Merchandise Ranges
Multi SKU ranges for shelf sale, complete with barcodes, header cards, retail packaging and per market safety labelling. Built to pass a retailer compliance check, not just a quality check.
Licensed Character Merchandise
Production for rights holders and appointed licensees, working to the style guide the licensor issues. Approval samples usually go to the licensor as well as to you, and we schedule for that extra round.
Loyalty and Premium Programmes
Collectible sets, redemption items and premium giveaways, often in staged waves. Consistency across waves matters more than anything, since customers compare pieces side by side.
How a Brand Toy Order Runs
Six stages. Brand work carries one extra step compared with general custom plush, and it is the one buyers most often forget to schedule for.
Brief and rights check
Send artwork, brand book and target market. If a third party property is involved, we confirm the licence position before quoting rather than after production has started.
Quotation and material selection
Pricing, fabric options and lead time, with Pantone references reviewed against what is achievable in pile fabric. We flag any colour that will not hold at this stage.
Pattern and first sample
Pattern drafted, first sample built and photographed. Corrections are marked directly onto the sample by our designers, then the pattern is adjusted and rebuilt.
Brand and licensor approval
The extra round. Your brand team signs off, and on licensed work the licensor does too. Allow real calendar time here, since approval sits outside our control.
Mass production
Production runs against the approved sample. Colour is checked against the retained reference at intervals, and every unit passes a metal detector before packing.
Retail packing and dispatch
Labels, hangtags, barcodes and packaging applied to your specification, cartons marked as your retailer requires, then photographed for approval before dispatch.
Brand Toy Specifications
Standard options for branded plush production. Anything outside these ranges is usually still possible, so ask rather than assume.

Brand Toy Questions
Questions specific to branded and licensed production. For general manufacturing questions, see the FAQ on our homepage.
Can you produce plush of a licensed character?
Yes, for rights holders and their appointed licensees. We have produced within licensed programmes before and are familiar with working to a licensor style guide and the extra approval round it brings.
We will ask to see the licence or written authorisation before quoting. A supplier who skips that step is exposing you as much as themselves, since unlicensed goods get seized at customs and pulled from retail regardless of who manufactured them.
How closely can you match our brand colours?
We match Pantone references in fabric and confirm the match physically at sample stage rather than promising it on paper.
One honest limit: pile fabric does not hit a Pantone target the way flat printed material does. Pile length and fibre both change how a colour reads under different light, and a long pile always looks slightly deeper than the same dye on a short pile. If a colour is central to your brand, tell us early and we will trial it on the actual pile you plan to use.
We have a brand book. Can you work directly from it?
Yes, and it makes the job considerably easier. Send the full document rather than extracts, including logo placement rules, proportion guidance, approved colourways and anything covering merchandise specifically.
Where a guideline does not translate cleanly to plush, we raise it before sampling. Brand books are usually written for print and digital, and some rules simply cannot be reproduced on a curved stuffed surface. Better to agree the adaptation up front than to discover it at approval.
Can you handle retail packaging and barcodes?
Yes. Woven labels, printed care labels, hangtags, header cards, barcodes, retail polybags with safety warnings, gift boxes and custom carton marking are all produced to your specification.
Send your retailer compliance sheet early. Packaging artwork routinely takes longer to approve than the toy itself, and it is the single most common reason an otherwise finished order sits waiting in our warehouse.
How long does the approval stage add to the schedule?
It depends entirely on your side and, on licensed work, on the licensor. That step sits outside our control, which is why we schedule it separately rather than folding it into the production lead time.
Plan for it honestly. A brand programme where approval takes three weeks and production takes 30 working days is a very different calendar from one where approval happens in two days. If you have a fixed launch date, tell us the date first and we will work backwards.
Will our brand appear anywhere on your marketing?
Not without written permission. Client artwork, patterns and samples are not shown to other buyers, and we do not publish images of a client product unless you have agreed to it.
We are happy to sign a non disclosure agreement before you send anything. Send your own document if you have one and we will review and return it.
Can you produce a full range across several SKUs?
Yes, and ranges are a large share of what we do. Multi SKU programmes usually share construction methods while differing in size, colourway or accessory.
Bear in mind that each variant carries its own pattern set and material run, so a five SKU range is not simply one order divided by five. Tell us the full range at quotation stage and we can often reduce cost by sharing pattern work across SKUs.
Will a reorder match the first production run?
Yes, and this is where owning the factory matters most. We retain the master pattern and the approved reference sample, and we track dye lots, so a repeat run can be matched physically against the original rather than rebuilt from a photograph.
Expect a very slight dye lot variation on fabric ordered months apart. It is normal across the industry. Where colour consistency is critical across waves, tell us up front and we can reserve fabric for the whole programme at the start.
What certifications do branded toys need?
It depends on where you sell. Goods entering the United States are checked against ASTM F963, goods entering the European Union against EN71 and REACH with CE marking applied. All our production also meets the GB6675 Chinese national standard.
Retailers frequently require independent verification on top of that. We work with several third party inspection agencies and can arrange lab testing where your buyer asks for a certificate in their own name.
What are your payment terms?
We accept bank transfer (T/T) only, structured as a 30 percent deposit with the 70 percent balance paid before shipment.
EXW, FOB, CIF and DAP pricing are all available, so you can choose whichever incoterm fits how your freight is already organised. If you have a nominated forwarder we will work with them directly.
Other Plush Toy Categories
Brand work runs across every category we produce. If your project fits one of these more specifically, start there.
